Bismarck police are investigating $4,550 in vandalism that occurred over the weekend.
Bismarck Police Lt. Mike Wardzinski said the vandalism reports came in from Friday to Sunday.
Wardzinski said seven of the reports involved someone breaking car side windows across town. Damage to the windows was estimated at $1,750. A DVD player, valued at $100, was stolen from one vehicle, and an audio receiver, valued at $200, was stolen from another.
In other incidents of vandalism over the weekend, someone slashed a convertible top, valued at $2,000, on a Honda sitting on the 1700 block of East Main Avenue and someone scratched a vehicle on Georgia Street, with damage of $500.

A Bismarck man reported being knocked unconscious while attempting to intervene in an argument between two unknown people.
Burleigh County Sheriff’s Sgt. Steve Hall said the 23-year-old man reported he was at the Apple Creek Game Management Area south of Bismarck around 2 a.m. Saturday when he saw a man and woman arguing. The 23-year-old attempted to intervene, and the unknown man punched him, knocking him unconscious.
The 23-year-old received medical attention, Hall said. He said the man reported the assault around 8 p.m. Saturday.
The case is under investigation, Hall said.

A Bismarck woman accused of providing drugs and alcohol to minors and having sex with a teenage boy has pleaded not guilty to 10 charges.
Ruth Taylor, 42, pleaded not guilty to four counts of Class B felony delivery of clonazepam to minors, two counts of Class C felony corruption of minors and four counts of Class A felony delivery of alcohol to minors.
Clonazepam is a drug used to treat a number of disorders, including seizure disorders and panic disorder.
Taylor was arrested in June after police received reports she had provided drugs and alcohol to 15- and 17-year-old boys and had sex with a 17-year-old boy.
Her next court appearance is slated for Aug. 9. She remains in the custody of the Burleigh County Detention Center in lieu of $5,000 cash bond.

Dakota Outright will be hosting the seventh annual North Dakota Capital Pride Fest in Bismarck from July 22-25.
Events are scheduled at Custer Park and Eagles Park. There will be live music and entertainment, camping, and bonfires.

The students of the North Dakota Governor’s School for the Performing Arts will bring vaudeville to the stage in their original new show, “The Governor’s Revue 2010,” at 7 p.m. Wednesday on the state Capitol building steps.
The school is a six-week program open to scholastically motivated North Dakota high school sophomores and juniors.
The 2010 North Dakota Youth Transition Conference is set for July 25-26 at the Seven Seas Hotel in Mandan. The conference emphasizes the importance of youth and young adults assuming a leadership role in their transition planning.
“Youth with disabilities have many additional challenges they must face. Our combined efforts can provide a helping hand to each individual and truly make an investment in their future,” said Nate Gawlik, a youth representative on the conference planning committee.
Two nationally recognized groups are featured at the conference. On July 25, Youth Motivating Others through Voices of Experience will highlight the day’s activities. CLIMB Theatre is featured on July 26.
The League of Women Voters is hosting a public session on Wednesday to discuss voter fraud and corruption in elections.
A special agent from the FBI will be there to talk about voters’ rights, voter fraud, public corruption and the role the FBI plays in ensuring fair elections.
The event will take place at noon Wednesday at the Bismarck Public Library in Meeting Room B.

SHEA steering coSHEA steering committee to meet
The Silver-Haired Education Association Steering Committee will meet from noon to 3 p.m. on Wednesday at the Comfort Inn, Bismarck. The meeting is open to the public.
The agenda will deal with proposed bills and resolutions to be submitted to the 2011 North Dakota Legislature and preparation for the SHEA General Assembly at the House Chambers of the State Capitol on July 28-30.
Concerns or suggestions for agenda items may be submitted to any member of the committee before or at the meeting.
